The Story
While completing degrees in Environmental Science, I (Tyler Baumann) developed a love for soil and things that grow. After several years of gardening in whatever soil I could find, peppers took up more and more of my available space. Thanks to a bumper crop of habaneros and other peppers, I combined this hobby with another favorite of mine - cooking, and started making hot sauces!
In 2024, I created Red Eye Hot Sauce as a one-person small business, becoming a Minnesota Cottage Food Producer. Inspired by the Common Loon and the abundant nature in Minnesota, I strive to make well-balanced, complex sauces using local ingredients and the peppers I grow!
